The Louisiana attorney general said Sunday he will take legal action to stop the incinerated personal belongings of a Dallas Ebola victim from being disposed of in a landfill in Calcasieu Parish.

Buddy Caldwell said he plans to ask for a temporary restraining order on Monday morning preventing any of the wastes from entering Louisiana, the Attorney General’s Office said in a release.

“The health and safety of our Louisiana citizens is our top priority,” Caldwell said in a news release. “There are too many unknowns at this point, and it is absurd to transport potentially hazardous Ebola waste across state lines.”

President Barack Obama lodged his worst-ever disapproval Saturday in the Gallup tracking poll — another ominous sign for Democrats scrambling on defense ahead of the midterm elections less than a month away.

While the Gallup tracking poll is notoriously noisy, the 57 percent who disapprove of his performance marks a new high for the president, while his approval rating, 39 percent, is just a tick above his all-time low.

Is that a joke? Kudos to Paul for jumping in this race 2 years before anyone else, but the Dietzel campaign mismanaged its budget and ran out of money, now Paul is parading around at the sorority houses. It looks more like he's running for SG president than Congress, and last time he got disqualified.

The freshman congressman, according to financial disclosure documents filed with the House of Representatives, serves as managing director, with a 50 percent ownership stake, of an oil-and-gas exploration company called Texas Coastal Energy, and in the course of a legal dispute with the company, a former employee recently described it as a “Wolf-of-Wall-Street-type environment replete with illegal drugs, high-stakes gambling, prostitutes, extramarital interoffice affairs, and ubiquitous sexual innuendo.”

McAllister himself is not named in the documents, and his role in the alleged scandalous behavior is unknown, but, according to financial-disclosure forms filed with the House of Representatives, his largest investment by far is in the company, which he co-founded in 2010. His ownership stake is worth $5 million to $25 million.

Texas Coastal Energy, according to a legal complaint filed by a former employee in August, was awash in inappropriate or even illegal activity ranging from drug use to sexual harassment and the misuse of investment funds

NEW ORLEANS — Sen. Mary Landrieu was a no-show Thursday at her first event following a major staff shake-up that included replacing her campaign manager, leaving her fellow Democrats to defend her moves.

With less than a month until Election Day, several Landrieu supporters denied in interviews that the campaign changes were a course correction, despite polls that show that the Louisiana senator is unlikely to clear the 50 percent she needs to avoid a December runoff.

“My businesses need my full attention at this time, so I am withdrawing from the race for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional district. The love and support given me by my supporters humbles and honors me beyond words, and I cannot thank them enough. Although I am withdrawing, my goal remains, and I will continue vigorously working towards it. I want the best representative in Congress for Louisiana’s 6th district.

The choice in this race cannot be more obvious: State Senator Dan Claitor. 

Garret Graves is the wrong choice, and represents everything about Washington, D.C. that I oppose. I hear his personal cell phone has a Washington, D.C. area code, and that he owns an expensive house in Washington, D.C two blocks from Mary Landrieu. He got max donations from Landrieu’s great buddy, Boysie Bollinger, and he kissed Landrieu on the face during qualifying. It’s a crony liberal nexus, and Graves is in the center of it. He runs proudly as the politician currying favor with all the other politicians and wealthy special interests. He stated on the trail that he “knows how to play the game.” Well, this is not a game to me.

Garret’s first job, after failing to graduate from 3 different universities, was working for a Democrat U.S. Senator. Conservatives do not work for Democrat Senators. Ever. Based on the above evidence, Graves is not a reformed Democrat. He is a liberal crony capitalist. His record and his actions prove it.

Graves may be a first-time candidate, but among the eight Republicans running, he’s the only real congressional insider, which may be a mixed blessing given today’s anti-government sentiments among conservatives (i.e., his target demographic).
