Bobby Jindal suspends presidential campaign: 'This is not my time'

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, once seen as a rising star in the Republican Party, abandoned his fledgling campaign for the White House Tuesday after failing to gain traction on the national level and remaining a virtual afterthought among a crowded field of Republican presidential hopefuls.

“This is not my time. I‘ve come to the realization that it’s just not my time,” he said during an appearance on Fox News’ Special Report from Washington.

HAYRIDE LYING FOR VITTER, WILL BE SUED BY PAT BERGERON

HAYRIDE LYING FOR VITTER, WILL BE SUED BY PAT BERGERON

Excerpt from the hayride:

"Then we understand that Edwards, who won’t lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those who do, has hired Baton Rouge political fixer Pat Bergeron for his campaign’s homestretch. That’s an interesting choice, as Bergeron was known as the facilitator of Mike Foster’s having bought David Duke’s mailing list before the 1995 gubernatorial campaign and most recently worked for Scott Angelle’s gubernatorial campaign.
We suspect, though likely will never be able to prove, that it was Bergeron who sent to us shortly before the primary election a pair of thumb drives containing audio files of a woman named Mary Jennings describing details of an alleged 20-year affair with her boss at the time, Jay Dardenne. We didn’t run with any of that, because dealing in the personal destruction of a political candidate through promotion of old scandal is beneath the floor of respectable politics, but we do find it interesting that Edwards would have accepted Dardenne’s endorsement and bloviated about the injustice of his treatment by Vitter while at the same time hiring an operative known for decades in Louisiana politics for the kinds of dirty tricks that would describe Operation Thumbdrive."
COMMENTARY: The Hayride dude has been on the Vitter payroll for months. Par for the course with this lying idiot at the hayride, they are now making up stories about me again. I am not on Edwards payroll nor have I ever been. Although it's easy to tell after this little missive who I am going to vote for. Met David Duke once, once too many. Never had anything to do with any mailing list. And just in case these people are too stupid to understand what they said Mike Foster just endorsed Vitter a few days ago. The thumb drive thing is absolutely ridiculous don't know who Mary Jennings is and frankly don't care..
You guys can actually sleep at night attacking people without a fricking bit of truth to it? If anyone wants to know more about who the author of the hayride is just check the civil and criminal court records in EBR. Lots of court records for Scott Mckay.
I understand politics more than most but this crap is beyond the pale of dignity and ethical behavior. OUTRIGHT LYING ABOUT A CANDIDATE IS HORRIBLE ENOUGH. BUT MAKING UP NASTY THINGS ABOUT A POLITICAL CONSULTANT WHO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A RACE IS MUCH WORSE. GET READY TO BE SERVED LEGAL PAPERS!
CHARACTER ASSASSINATION SEEMS TO BE THE M.O. OF THE VITTER CAMPAIGN!
As I said the last time this idiot attacked me, I have a long history of political and civic service to the citizens of Baton Rouge. Louisiana and America. The guy making up this stuff has nothing but a need to make money to pay his legal fees! I have four children and really don't appreciate being slandered in such a raw, stupid manner.
Clearly, the Vitter camp is in panic mode! It's over boys, take it to the house! Venting won't help.. It's over!

COOK REPORT: Vitter’s Struggles Move LA Governor Race to Lean Democrat

LA Governor: Vitter’s Struggles Move this Race to Lean Democrat

We are calling Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter the underdog, and moving the rating to Lean Democrat. This rating change says little about the overall politics of Louisiana or where the two political parties find themselves in the state. It does say a great deal about how much Sen. David Vitter’s situation has changed in the last few months

LAST 3 POLLS SHOW EDWARDS LEADING VITTER BY BIG MARGINS IN GUV RACE

Three polls show John Bel Edwards leading David Vitter in stunning turn of events surrounding governor's race

Three polls released in the past week show Democrat John Bel Edwards with a commanding lead over Republican David Vitter in their Nov. 21 runoff.
It’s a startling turn from just a few months ago, when political observers seemed to have anointed Vitter as Louisiana’s presumptive next governor.
But three polls, from three different polling firms and for three different clients, conducted since the Oct. 24 primary show Edwards with a double-digit lead over Vitter and above the crucial 50 percent threshold.
